Tampa Bay Charities Make New Contacts Through Speed Networking at Fort Harrison

Clearwater, FL, August 27, 2018 --(PR.com)-- On Wednesday, August 22, the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization held its bimonthly Charity Coalition Luncheon, a networking event for non-profit organizations and charities. Over 50 Tampa Bay non-profit organizations were represented including the Pinellas Sheriff’s Police Athletic League, PACE Center for Girls, Clearwater Jazz Holiday and Clearwater Garden Club.

Mr. Dylan Pires, the Community Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology, opened the event and served as the MC. He facilitated a community update, bringing the guests up to speed on recent major accomplishments from Charity Coalition members.

Mr. Pires read the L. Ron Hubbard quote, “A community that pulls together can make a better society for all,” and said, “We can all work on our own and do our programs separately—but—imagine all the non-profits in the Tampa Bay area working together to achieve our goals. We would be a united force, helping all those who need help.”

Mr. Ed Thiebe, Development Director for the Community Service Foundation, spoke about how they provide affordable housing, educational training in homeownership and household budgeting and other related housing services to Pinellas County residents.

Next Mr. Pires introduced the “speed networking” portion of the event. The guests get 2 minutes to introduce themselves to another guest and exchange business cards. After the 2 minutes are up, the buzzer sounds and they have to find a new partner. They did this for 20 minutes and they had a great time.

The next Charity Coalition function will be the 4th Anniversary Banquet and concert in the Fort Harrison on October 20. To attend or for more information please contact Dylan at (727) 467-6860 or dylanpires@churchofscientology.net.
