SMi reports: Sponsor interview released and available to download on the download centre of the conference website.

London, United Kingdom, September 05, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Ahead of this year’s 3rd annual Air Missile Defence Technology conference, taking place on the 23rd and 24th October in Prague, SMi group caught up with Mr Israel Oznovich, Air Surveillance and Defence, IAI ELTA Systems to discuss current developments, priorities and the upcoming event.

View a snapshot below:

"What is Elta systems/IAI doing to enhance Air Missile Defence Technology?"

"ELTA Systems is Israel's radar house, meaning it develops and manufactures, as well as support deployment, operation and maintenance of all radars types for Israel – airborne, naval, and land-based. As such, its radars and sensors permeate the entire backbone of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) sensor suites."

"ELTA's radars are operational in IDF's active missile protection systems – Multi Mission Radar (MMR) for the Iron Dome system, MMR for David's Sling, Green Pine for Arrow 2 and Green Pine for Arrow 3. The capabilities and operation of these radars change and develop according to the type and intensify of threats and give us the opportunity to offer the most advanced technology, proven in battle. The roles of these radars in active protection systems is detection, tracking, classification, fire control, interceptor tracking and damage assessment. The main role of these radars in passive protection is alert."

“What technology updates have really caught your eye in the past year?”

“In Radio Frequency, the move from Gallium arsenide (GaAs) or Laterally Diffused MOSFET (LDMOS) to Gallium Nitride (GaN) is obviously the largest step forward in recent years. In radar systems, the importance of multi-mission or multi-purpose capability has received wide recognition in the past year. In terms of operational requirements and uses, it appears that the true meaning of IAMD – Integrated Air and Missile Defence – has finally seen the light of day.”
