The Richmond World Affairs Council Announces New Board Member Dr. Jeffrey Legro, Provost at the University of Richmond

Richmond, VA, November 03, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Richmond World Affairs Council is delighted to announce the appointment of a new member to its Board of Directors. Dr. Jeffrey W. Legro was nominated by illustrious members of the Richmond community. His expertise, experience, and involvement in the community make him a great asset to the World Affairs Council.

Since July 2017, Dr. Legro is the Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Richmond. There, he is responsible for the academic mission of the University and oversees the five schools. The University of Richmond’s extensive international efforts include being the #2 rated school in study abroad and a student body that has 10% international students. Previously, he was the Vice Provost for Global Affairs at the University of Virginia. An expert on international affairs, Dr. Legro is the author of numerous books and articles. He also served as a consultant to governments and foundations, researched and taught in China, Great Britain, Germany, and Russia, and in 2011 was a Fulbright-Nehru Scholar in New Delhi.

Dr. Legro will play an active role in the governance of the organization, helping the World Affairs Council to fulfill its mission of offering diverse audiences of Central Virginia a forum to engage in dialogue pertaining to international relations with policy makers, academics, and thought-leaders, in order to deepen understanding, find solutions, and advance international cooperation.

The Management and Governance bodies of the Richmond World Affairs Council look forward to working closely with Dr. Legro to ignite critical thought and spark debates on global issues.
