Best Buy Store 205 Associates Volunteer with KIB and Irving Fire Department for Second Project

Irving, TX, November 08, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Associates of Best Buy Store #205, located on Airport Freeway in Irving, are making a habit of doing good things for their local community by partnering with Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) and the Irving Fire Department (IFD). In September, a group of employee volunteers completed a beautification project at the IFD Administration Building, and the experience was so rewarding that they signed up for another opportunity, this time at Fire Station 2, located at Story Road and Irving Boulevard. On October 30, the group of seven gathered at the station to tackle their second beautification project. They prepped and stained a weathered wooden fence at the station, then had enough time left to paint the metal entry gate next to the fence, giving a total of 21 hours of service. After the work was completed, firefighters gave the group a tour of the station, where they learned about the day-to-day operations of that station, as well as how the whole department functions and the different specialty areas at each of the city’s twelve fire stations.

“The Irving Fire Department is recognized as one of the best in the state, and after working with them in these projects, we can see why that is,” said KIB Board Member Karen Harmon. “This was an excellent opportunity for KIB to bring together outstanding volunteers from our business community with a top-notch group like the IFD for a highly visible project that will have a lasting impact.”
