Operation Food Search Raises $109,000 at Handbags to End Hunger

Proceeds to benefit St. Louis non-profit agency's programs and services.

St. Louis, MO, November 17, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Operation Food Search (OFS), a non-profit hunger relief organization, raised $109,000 at its recent Handbags to End Hunger (formerly known as Purses for Pantries) event. Proceeds will be used to benefit the agency’s programs and services.

The fundraiser had both a silent and live auction which featured a variety of design and designer-inspired handbags, evening clutches, vintage pocketbooks, totes, carryalls, and more. Auction items also included restaurant and spa gift certificates, as well as jewelry.

The event featured guest speaker Sue McCarthy, author and owner of The Vault Luxury Resale who is the founder of the multimillion-dollar resale boutique based in St. Louis.

Founded in 1981, Operation Food Search (OFS) is a hunger relief organization located at 1644 Lotsie Blvd. that provides food and nutrition education. With a strategic focus aimed at ending childhood hunger, OFS empowers families with a range of programs and services proven to reduce food insecurity and increase access to healthy and affordable food. The agency helps feed more than 200,000 individuals on a monthly basis – one-third of which are children – through a network of 330 community partners in 31 Missouri and Illinois counties.
