)-- Meals On Wheels Tampa to host 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run to raise awareness and funds for Tampa’s homebound seniors and neighbors.
Meals On Wheels of Tampa will host their 2ndAnnual 5K & I-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Gadsden Park, 6901 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa 33611.
This event isa vision brought to fruition by a team of Tampa’s brightest high school students with the objective of raising awareness and funds for Meals On Wheels of Tampa. These students, who make up the Meals On Wheels High School Leadership Board, are tasked with enriching the lives of Tampa’s homebound seniors and neighbors through one project a year. Recognizing the many benefits that movement has for homebound individuals, this year’s project will focus on ways to stay active at home including providing exercise bands.
7:30am: Registration opens
9:00am: 5K start time
10:00am: 1-Mile Fun Run start time
The 5K is $25 per person and includes a t-shirt and finisher medal. The 1-Mile Fun Run is $15 per person and includes a t-shirt and finisher ribbon. Prices increase February 9, 2019.

Post Race: Awards will be given out to the overall winners and top three finishers in each gender and age bracket for the 5K.
