Originally starting out of a garage, Wellex’s roots were firmly planted by CEO Shannon Shores in St. Louis on July 1, 2015. After deciding to concentrate primarily on STD testing, the company’s revenue amounted to $2.1 million in 2017. Last year, Wellex’s staff doubled and revenue increased to $3.2 million.

Shannon Shores has always invested her time in people, dating back to 2001 when she earned her master’s degree in social services. A few years later, Shores also decided to invest her money in people – becoming an early-stage investor in the garage-based company. Shortly after, she became a buying partner, was named CEO, and made the company what it is today.
