LionDesk and Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Fund Three Homes in El Salvador

Carlsbad, CA, February 11, 2019 --(PR.com)-- LionDesk, a leading real estate CRM platform announced today that its partnership with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate (BHGRE) in support of sustainable real estate non-profit New Story has helped fund three new homes for families in El Salvador. BHGRE and LionDesk were joined in the effort by Daniel Ramsey, CEO of MyOutDesk. The homes were built in the village of Ahuachapán.

The non-profit’s mission is to "pioneer solutions to address global homelessness and imagine a world where no human lives in survival mode,” and was identified by BHGRE as highly worthwhile endeavor to support. The real estate sales company reached out to fellow industry partner LionDesk to share New Story’s message.

The homes are part of a broad, multifaceted effort to establish an economically sustainable and healthy community for the people of a challenged region in western El Salvador. Individual families are supported through an online giving profile, set up by New Story, which also promotes the use of local labor and innovative, sustainable materials.

Families are encouraged to pay back the cost of the home through a 0% interest loan. Those payments are used to fund additional homes in a self-perpetuating, “pay it forward” model.

“I needed no convincing to help out a charity like this,” said Ramsey. “As soon as the team at LionDesk called, I knew it was a good cause. Collectively, the real estate industry has a great deal of ability to enact change.”

Ramsey and his company, MyOutDesk, are no strangers to being charitable for families. Through a separate non-profit, MOD Movement, the company has renovated and supported the “Foundlings Home” at the Boys Town orphanage and senior center in Manila, Philippines.

“Just as Better Homes and Gardens did for us, we want others to hear this message,” said LionDesk founder and CEO David Anderson. “It’s not about us, and it’s important that other companies and those capable go beyond their bottom lines when it comes to solving real estate challenges, we hope our efforts will inspire others.”
