)-- RELYANT Global, LLC (RELYANT) was awarded a Task Order under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District’s Rapid Disaster Infrastructure (RDI) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) to support recovery efforts as a result of recent California Wildfires. The contract will provide all civil work required to develop temporary housing sites in the County of Butte, California. Central to the execution of this time-critical disaster relief contract is the provision of temporary-infrastructure and construction planning, which will result in fully built-up sites to accommodate the delivery of approximately 37 Manufactured Housing Units to serve as temporary housing for survivor families.
The California Wildfire, which was widely referred to as the "Camp Fire," began in Butte County on November 8, 2018, and continued to burn until November 25, 2018; in total burning 185,000 acres, destroying 20,000 structures in Butte County alone, and displacing approximately 12,000 families. RELYANT’s CEO, Dan Smith, elaborates on RELYANT’s eagerness to execute this work as quickly as possible on behalf of the families impacted by the fires. “Having the unfortunate experience of firsthand knowledge of the devastation that wildfires bring to a community, we are honored to be part of this effort and commit to providing our fullest attention and priority focus to preparing these housing sites as quickly as possible. We hope that by aiding in the delivery of comfortable housing, RELYANT is able to play a role in survivor families reestablishing a sense of normalcy and comfort.”
