Highlands Ranch, CO, February 23, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Securisyn Medical, LLC, dedicated to inspiring the world to collaborate to make airway management safer, today announced they are one of 59 companies selected out of hundreds nationally to present its novel technology in support of the Company’s Air Force Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I proposal at the Inaugural Air Force Pitch Day event on March 6-7, 2019 in New York City.

Securisyn’s proposal is based upon its patented airway safety device, the SolidAIRity™ Airway Stabilization System, the only fully-integrated airway stabilization system designed and patented to provide unmatched airway stability for ventilated patients. SolidAIRity™ fills an unmet need for healthcare facilities globally that deliver care to mechanically ventilated patients: primarily civilian and military/government hospitals (ICU, OR, ED) and out-of-hospital ground and air medical transport. Mark Bruning, Securisyn's CEO, stated, “We believe our solution will significantly decrease the risk of endotracheal tube (ETT) displacement and dislodgement during the initial evacuation process by ground vehicle and different rotary wing and fixed evacuation platforms, because a single unplanned extubation leading to the preventable death of one soldier, sailor, airman or marine, is one too many.”

The Inaugural Air Force Pitch Day was designed to allow the Pentagon to do business at the speed of ideas by inspiring and accelerating startup creativity toward national security challenges. Dr. Will Roper, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, noted “Pitch Days are new fast tracks for startups to work with the Air Force. Modeled after commercial investment pitch competitions, our goal is to award up to $40 million to startups using one-day, one-page contracts. These awards use convenient credit card payments—we want partnering with the Air Force to be easy and energizing!”

Securisyn Medical is also a recent recipient of a $250,000 Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) Early Stage Capital and Retention Grant that will accelerate required FDA 510(k) testing and post-clearance clinical trials for the Company’s patented airway stabilization system. The company expects to submit its 510(k) premarket notification for SolidAIRity™ by the end of February 2019 and will pursue a limited market release with select innovator health care leaders immediately upon clearance.
