‘Laine’s Bake Shop, Chicago’s First Tier II Pop Up Licensee, Opens Chatham Pop Up Store

Chicago, IL, March 12, 2019 --(PR.com)-- ‘Laine’s Bake Shop holds pop up event in Chatham neighborhood.

‘Laine’s Bake Shop, a local, woman and minority-owned small business, is holding a pop up event through March 31 at 8301 South Holland Road, Unit C. Rachel Bernier-Green, the owner, seeks to gauge interest of community members in her business and product as she is considering opening a permanent location of her bakery cafe concept at this address.

The first ‘Laine’s Bake Shop bakery cafe is slated to open on April 8 at 756 E 111th Street in Chicago’s historic Pullman neighborhood.

Ms. Bernier-Green is leasing the pop up space at the Chatham Market shopping center from Cabanban, Rubin & Mayberry Commercial Realty (CR&M). Along with support from CR&M and Alderman Brookins Office, Ms. Bernier-Green worked with the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection to obtain the first ever Tier II Pop Up User license since the City’s new pop up ordinance was implemented at the start of 2019.

‘Laine’s Bake Shop is a family-operated bakery with a social mission to revitalize urban communities, starting with the south side of Chicago, through their unique three pronged approach. This approach includes employing and professionally developing local residents, especially those that face barriers to re-entering the job market.
