Chris Howell Addresses Health Disparities Among Black Communities During the 19th Annual African American Health Expo Symposium

Together, Chris Howell and the AAHExpo Will Bridge the Gap Between Knowledge and Access to Health for People of Color.

Dallas, TX, April 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Award-winning journalist, entrepreneur and community leader Chris Howell has partnered with the AAHExpo as the keynote speaker for their 19th Annual Health Expo Symposium on April 27th. As African American populations continue to be among the most impacted by diabetes, blood pressure, and other illnesses, the necessity for stronger knowledge and health access within the community has become more urgent than ever. This year’s event will address this issue directly with its theme, “Health Disparities from Awareness to Action,” in which Chris Howell will lead a much-needed conversation regarding the importance of making health resources more accessible to African American members of the Dallas-Fort Worth community and beyond.

Chris Howell’s appearance at the AAHExpo Symposium will serve as an extension of his efforts to bring health, wellness, and financial literacy to at-risk communities through his self-named nonprofit, the Chris Howell Foundation. The organization, which has been serving the Dallas-Fort Worth community since 2016, spearheads programs and services that empower individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency through skills development, increased knowledge, and access to necessary resources.

“I’m honored to be a part of such a wonderful event that has contributed so much to the Dallas-Fort Worth community for almost two decades. Knowledge is power, and the only way that we can guarantee change is by convening to discuss the topics that impact our direct communities. My hope is that through the AAHExpo Symposium and annual programs organized by the Chris Howell Foundation, we can create ongoing opportunities to change the narrative on African American health by helping them become better informed on how to make positive lifestyle changes for whole body health and successful living,” Chris Howell said of the event.

Following the AAHExpo, Chris Howell will be continuing his efforts by hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch Gala on May 11th in recognition of Women’s Health Month, where the Chris Howell Foundation will honor local leaders for their community contributions while raising funds to support their annual programming which includes the Know Your Status Dallas Health & Wellness Fair.
