2019 Military, Veteran & Military Spouse Entrepreneur Freedom Summit II

Three nonprofit Veteran Service Organizations – Veteran Launch, The Rosie Network and the National Veterans Transition Services, Inc. (aka REBOOT) – are bringing together business experts to support veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs in starting or expanding their businesses. Three nonprofit Veteran Service Organizations – Veteran Launch, The Rosie Network and the National Veterans Transition Services, Inc. (aka REBOOT) – are bringing together business experts to support veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs in starting or expanding their businesses. American River College will host the event at the Student Center.

“Veterans own 9% of all businesses in the U.S., generating $1.22 trillion in annual revenue,” reports Air Force veteran Mike McGrane, Senior Vice President and NorCal Lending Officer at Veteran Launch, “but military discipline and work ethic are only the foundation for success.” The Summit is designed to help veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs work on the three key components to grow a successful business: 1) practical entrepreneurship training, 2) access to capital and 3) finding good mentors.

In addition to panel discussions on how to market one’s company and accessing capital, attendees at the 2019 Freedom Summit can hear experts discuss:

Advertising & Marketing using Social Media and SEO
Legal, Taxes, Accounting, Bookkeeping
Human Resources & using a Professional Employment Organization
Franchising
Buying or selling a business, Business Valuation
Business Plans 101/ Pitching your business
Food and Beverage Industry
DVBE Certification & doing business with the government

This event will end with a pitch competition, with a $5,000 grand prize sponsored by Union Bank. Other key event sponsors include Main Street Launch, SBA, Department of General Services (DGS), Addastaff, Evolution, and House to Home. Active duty personnel attend for free, while veterans and military spouses pay $25. There is no fee to enter the pitch competition, but competitors must be registered attendees.
