KIB, Emma’s House, Irving Elks Lodge, All Things Made New Collaborate; Group Makes No-Sew Blankets

Irving, TX, June 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The atmosphere at All Things Made New (ATMN) was lively on June 14, when Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) staff, summer campers and staff of Emma’s House, and members of the Irving Elks Lodge 2334 visited. The groups enjoyed fellowship and a pizza party. They also participated making “no-sew” blankets. The ATMN youth, along with adults from all four organizations prepped the fleece material, then joined with the Emma’s House campers to complete the blankets. This team effort resulted in 22 volunteers offering 66 hours of service making four baby blankets. The blankets will be used as a fundraiser for Emma’s House. Through grant funding, the Elks Lodge provided volunteers with a pizza party, as well as the fleece material used to create the blankets.

“This is a great example of nonprofit organizations joining together for a good cause,” said KIB board member Brian Bunch. “KIB has been working with both Emma’s House and All Things Made New for several years, but this was the first time that all three groups collaborated on a project. Having another great civic organization like the Irving Elks Lodge purchase the material and the pizza, and then join with the youth and mentors in creating the blankets was really special.”

All Things Made New provides youth and teens encouragement and mentorship. Emma’s House serves teens and young adults with special needs.
