Brigham Young University Student Kelly Wight received a $2,500 study abroad scholarship from The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Washington, DC, April 03, 2008 --(PR.com)-- BYU student Kelly Wight has been awarded The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) Scholar Abroad Scholarship for the summer semester. Wight, a senior in the nursing program, will spend seven weeks this summer in Ecuador studying global health, as well as working in the maternity ward at an Ecuadorian hospital.

“We read thousands of applications throughout the year, and Kelly’s truly stood out in the group,” said Stephen E. Loflin, NSCS’ executive director. “Her commitment to the field of nursing and her dedication to help those suffering, were especially impressive. We are proud to help her represent her school community, the Society and the United States, overseas.”

The Scholar Abroad Scholarship is presented to one outstanding NSCS member each semester to assist the student with his/her study abroad experience. NSCS gives $5,000 in the spring and fall semesters, and $2,500 in the summer.
