Mary’s Center Receives Baby Monitor Donation from Panasonic

Washington, DC, July 16, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Mary’s Center announced today it received a donation of 500 baby monitors from Panasonic Corporation of North America.

“We feel so honored that Panasonic donated monitors to Mary’s Center,” said Maria Gomez, CEO/President of Mary’s Center. “It not only provides our participants with a life-changing resource, but it also serves as a recognition for the amazing work that Mary’s Center is doing for our community.”

These monitors were distributed at Mary’s Center’s most recent quarterly educational baby shower and will continue to be distributed throughout the year at upcoming showers. Mary’s Center’s educational baby showers are an initiative that affords expectant families the resources and knowledge they need to navigate motherhood. These showers are part of Mary’s Center’s mission to provide comprehensive care to their participants. At the showers, Mary’s Center’s staff provides educational tips and information on accessing social services and other resources to participants who receive prenatal care at their clinics, therefore providing their participants with access to all the services they need to improve their lives and the lives of their children.

"We know there are great expenses that come with a new baby, and underserved families often struggle to afford the bare necessities. Our corporate culture is anchored in contributing to society and we want this contribution to give those families one less item to worry about," said Alejandra Ceja, Executive Director Panasonic Foundation and Office of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Without this donation, many of Mary’s Center’s participants would not have access to this state-of-the-art technology, which provides support, safety, and comfort to both parents and newborns. The Panasonic Long-Range Baby Monitor creates an independent closed network for up to 1500 feet of secure, interference-free connection. The advanced monitor system detects infant movement with pan, tilt, and zoom functions, and can be used right out of the box, with no assembly and minimal set up required.

“When we distributed the monitors to our expectant mothers, it was such a joy to see their excitement,” said Jessica Kaufman, Social Services Manager at Mary’s Center. “There were so many smiling faces in the crowd!”
