CrowdReviews Partnered with Explore Exhibitions to Announce: 5th Global Cyber Security Forum September 18, 2019 Beirut, Lebanon

Naples, FL, July 25, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Taking in cognisance the evolving cyber threats across the globe, several nations have formed committees & taskforces to implement the best strategies to fight cybercrimes. These task forces are destined to ensure the nation’s assets are protected against any threats by implementing best policies & state-of-the-art solutions, whilst creating a robust ecosystem for ease of communication on any advanced attacks.

With the economy of Lebanon evolving sharply and the Lebanese government’s initiatives to adopt various digital initiatives, one of the key aspects they are currently focusing on is the Cyber Policies and advanced technologies implementations, as they are well aware of the fact that any digital advancements leads to higher vulnerabilities towards cyber attacks.

As per the Global Security Index 2018 by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Lebanon is ranked 17 among the regional Arab countries and 124 globally. The Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) is a survey that measures the commitment of Member States to cybersecurity in order to raise awareness. The GCI revolves around the ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA) and its five pillars (legal, technical, organizational, capacity building and cooperation).

In order to ensure the Lebanese government succeeds in its digital initiatives, they have to implement the best possible strategies to protect themselves from any possible cyber vulnerabilities. As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of Lebanon, the country is in the process of establishing stringent policies and legal frameworks in terms of cybersecurity and associated governance. The Lebanese government along with Banque Du Liban had issued policy guidelines for the entities in Lebanon with a great deal of focus on cyber security, but implementing it and measuring its effectiveness is still in its infancy. Clearly, the country cannot afford a cyberattack at this given point of time and needs to protect its data perimeters and citizen’s rights with utmost priority.

With this in mind, the government of Lebanon is doing everything in its capacity to ensure a secure nation. For instance, Law 81 - a significant stepping stone toward the nation’s digital future was adopted by Lebanese Parliament last year and went into effect at the beginning of this calendar year.

However bracing the entire country and its businesses (private & public) from cyber threats is a herculean task. “Thus the Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr. Saad Hariri nominated a Committee with representatives from Ministries of Telecommunication, Economy and Commerce, Industry, Education, Justice, Defense and the Council of Ministers, as well as security agencies and academia to prepare a comprehensive cyber strategy.”

Leaving no stones unturned, the Lebanese government is working in close cooperation with the European Union (EU) to bring forth the best advancements and strategies to Lebanon and safe guard its critical infrastructures.

Considering this, the Ministry of Public Works And Transport, Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Civil Aviation Safety Center of Lebanon has taken a bold step to address the key challenges faced in Lebanon due to cyber threats, by hosting the first cyber security conference in Lebanon in collaboration with Explore Exhibitions & Conference LLP.

Being the first cyber security conference in Lebanon, the event is poised to bring together over 250+ stakeholders from public and private enterprise from across Lebanon who will witness presentations experts carrying decades of experience in fighting cyber crimes, whilst also standing a chance to meet internationally renowned solution providers.
