Plasticos Enhances Board of Directors with Four Prominent New Business Leaders

Plasticos has strengthened its board of directors by adding four prominent business leaders.

Orange, CA, July 27, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Plasticos, a humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through reconstructive plastic surgery worldwide and in the United States, has strengthened its board of directors by adding four prominent business leaders and updating its two advisory councils that provide additional medical and business expertise.

The changes come as Plasticos this year commemorates 20 years of performing life-changing reconstructive surgeries free of charge for children and adults in under-resourced nations along with training host-country surgeons and other medical personnel to provide additional surgeries and train more doctors.

In addition to medical missions conducted overseas, Plasticos operates a domestic humanitarian program, Reshaping Lives California, which provides critical reconstructive surgeries to children and adults in Southern California that are uninsured and living below the poverty line.

Newly elected board members include:

Philippe Schaison, Ph.D., Plasticos Board Chair and Soltego CEO
Dr. Schaison’s career has included CEO, Global President and Chief Commercial Officer leadership positions in consumer healthcare, consumer goods and retail sectors (Asia, South America and Europe). He is renowned for his expertise is driving successful operations and profitability for leading global organizations. Prior to his current position at Soltego, Dr. Schaison was CEO at Syneron Candela, president of US Aesthetic & Medical at Allergan and VP Global Skin Care for Johnson & Johnson.

Thomas V. Girardi, Plasticos Director and Girardi Keese Lawyers, Founding Partner
Widely regarded as one of the nation's top trial lawyers with more than 50 years of experience representing victims, Girardi has obtained numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements, handling claims involving wrongful death, commercial litigation, products liability, and bad faith insurance. In one well-known case, a utility company agreed to pay $460 million to residents of a small desert community in California after incidents of cancer and other diseases were blamed on contaminated water. This case was the inspiration for the 2000 film Erin Brockovich starring Julia Roberts.

Paul Little, Plasticos Treasurer and Sientra CFO, Senior VP & Treasurer
Little has more than 30 years of financial and operational management experience with public companies in the aesthetic space. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Syneron Candela, a leading global non-surgical aesthetic device company with a wide portfolio of medical aesthetic products. Prior to Syneron Candela, he held several key financial positions at Allergan including Vice President, Finance & Commercial Operations and Vice President, Assistant Corporate Controller.

Caroline Van Hove, Plasticos Director and Sienna Biopharmaceuticals Chief Commercial Officer
Van Hove is a global leader with 20 years of diverse experience in the pharmaceutical, consumer and medical device industries, managing sales and marketing, commercial excellence, public relations and corporate affairs. She possesses global agency and large healthcare company experience. Prior to her current position, Van Hove served as senior vice president of international strategic marketing at Allergan, where she oversaw commercial operations for the medical aesthetics, eye care and specialty care franchises, including portfolio development.
