Getco Company's Smith Point Triathlon is This Sunday August 4, 2019 from 6-9:30 AM

Getco Company's Smith Point Triathlon will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 6-10 pm. It is a sprint-distance triathlon organized by Getco Company to raise money for the the Frances Pope Memorial Foundation as well as numerous local charities.

Smith Point, NY, August 03, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Getco Company's Smith Point Triathlon will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Smith Point County Park. It is a sprint-distance triathlon organized by Getco Company and Event Power. The Smith Point Triathlon will be raising money for the the Frances Pope Memorial Foundation as well as numerous local charities.

Please be advised:

The Smith Point Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7:00 a.m.–9:30 a.m.
No vehicles will be allowed in or out of the park 7-9AM

The drawbridge will remain closed from 6:45 a.m.–9:15 a.m. a “Notice to Mariners” has been sent by the Coast Guard.

The center lane of William Floyd Parkway will be closed from 7:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m. with very limited vehicular crossings.

Please be prepared to find alternate routes south/north via Surrey Circle, Smith Road and Mastic Road.

Starting at the immaculate Smith Point County Park, the race starts with a 500-meter Narrow’s Bay swim. The swimmers will be exiting the water at the Suffolk County fishing pier. The swim will be followed by a flat 12-mile bike ride over the Smith Point Bridge in the center lanes of William Floyd Parkway to the Stuart Avenue and back. The race concludes with a scenic 3.1-mile run over the bridge ending at the start. With ample parking, a race-day-expo, and the allure of a post-race ocean beach day, this race is a must-do for athletes of all abilities on Long Island.
