Art Therapy Studio Names Michelle Epps as New Executive Director

Cleveland, OH, August 11, 2019 --(PR.com)-- The Board of Trustees at Art Therapy Studio, the country’s oldest arts therapy program of its kind, is pleased to announce the hiring of Michelle Epps as Executive Director. Epps will lead a staff of 15 that in 2018 alone provided a wide-range of art therapy services to more than 4,000 throughout Northeast Ohio.

Epps will oversee the organization's contract partnerships and on-site programs, which provide credentialed arts therapy services to area hospitals, veteran services organizations, older adult and youth centers, addiction and mental health facilities, and developmental disabilities organizations. Additionally, Epps will work to foster Art Therapy Studio’s multi-site Discover the Artist Within You (DTA) program, which offers extended art therapy services to the community at large and individuals leaving a contract partnership environment. The DTA program is modeled after a philosophy that art making is central to healing and general wellness.

“In addition to her past experience, Michelle’s passion and advocacy for making life-changing art accessible to all seamlessly fit with our core values as an organization,” stated Art Therapy Studio Board President Chris Treu. “We all look forward to Michelle leading us and being the voice for our Foundation and grant partnerships during this exciting time at Art Therapy Studio.”

Prior to joining Art Therapy Studio, Epps served as the Community Engagement Coordinator for six years at SPACES. Epps is a life-long resident of Northeast Ohio and resides in Lakewood.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a historic organization; one that believes that the power of creativity can make positive, meaningful change for all,” stated Epps.
