Chamber’s Leadership Dayton to Recognize TACG Director Ramona Vikan

Dayton-Area Chamber of Commerce Program, Leadership Dayton, to recognize TACG Director Ramona Vikan with "Outstanding Community Board Service" Award

Dayton, OH, September 13, 2019 --(PR.com)-- TACG Director Ramona Vikan has been honored with Leadership Dayton’s "Outstanding Community Board Service" Award for her significant contributions to the Dayton community. This is the inaugural year for the Outstanding Community Board Service Award, which recognizes a Leadership Dayton graduate who has excelled in their board match position.

Nominated by Dayton Art Institute (DAI), Ms. Vikan sat on DAI’s Board of Trustees for one year (2014-2015) before joining its Associate Board in 2015. Her main duties were focused on assisting with the planning and execution of DAI’s largest fundraisers, Art ball and Octoberfest, which contributes a significant portion of their operating budget.

“The Leadership Dayton Board Match program introduced me to the Dayton Art Institute and enabled me to understand what it takes to keep 100 years of art and culture relevant in this ever-changing social landscape. It was important to me for DAI to continue to make these connections with Dayton's business leaders to recruit the talent, energy, and resources needed to see them through another hundred years,” says Ms. Vikan. “When I became aware that DAI needed help keeping this relationship alive, I was thrilled to jump in and help make that happen.”

This year’s honorees will be recognized at the 2019 Leadership Dayton Annual Meeting on Wednesday, September 18 at Dayton International Airport. The following is a full list of honorees:

(Inaugural) Outstanding Community Board Service Award – Ramona Vikan, matched with Dayton Art Institute

Program Partner of the Year – Dayton Power & Light
