)-- Having a plan is the key to a successful move no matter your age. For older adults it can be an even more complicated process. As you begin to think about downsizing, it’s important to have all of your documents in order, have an idea of where you want to live and what you will do with all of your “stuff.”
To assist Dallas/Fort Worth seniors and their families in dealing with the complexities involved in these moves, Ingrid and John Sullivan of Senior Downsizing Experts have put together a seminar entitled “Rightsize the Right Way.” This free seminar will be presented at Legacy Oaks of Midlothian on Thursday, October 10 from 2pm to 3:30pm. Legacy Oaks is located at 610 S. 14th Street, Midlothian, TX 76065.
“We encourage our seminar attendees to look at their options now and create a plan, even if they’re not ready to move right away,” says John. “While they may intend to stay in their home, circumstances can change – sometimes rather quickly – and if that happens, the thought of making a move can be completely overwhelming.”
During the hour and a half program, presenters will give attendees an idea of how to get started on this new chapter in their life that requires less maintenance and allows for more freedom and fun. Topics will include: important documents to have in place, things to consider before making a move, senior living options available in the DFW area, tips for hiring various professionals related to the moving process, and strategies for dealing with belongings.
"Moving can be stressful at any age," says Ingrid. "But for seniors who have lived in their home for 30 years or more, it is much more complicated. We want our older clients to know that there is help out there. They don’t have to do it alone. We can help them formulate a plan and get things in order so they can do things the right way."
There is no cost to attend the seminar but space is limited so reserve your spot today. Call 972-898-4220 to register.
