American Standard, KIB Team Up for Community Day

Irving, TX, October 23, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Employee volunteers from American Standard Brands took some time away from their Grand Prairie office Oct. 11 to volunteer with Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) during Community Day. This is the second year for this company to partner with KIB for a beautification project, which included painting the interior of the Senter East Building. A total of 32 volunteers offered 79 hours of service, giving the main room of the building a fresh new look.

Lixil, American Standard’s parent company, started Community Day in 2017 as part of its Corporate Responsibility Strategy. During this event, employees from locations around the world participate in a variety of projects. American Standard reached out to KIB in 2018 for project ideas. The company worked together with KIB to paint an Irving Parks and Recreation facility, the Georgia Farrow Recreation Center.

In 2019, the company returned for the Oct. 11 project, and under the guidance of the Irving Parks and Recreation Department, the results will be enjoyed by the many residents and visitors who use the Senter East Building throughout the year.

“Community Day is a great way for a company’s employees to interact with the community and really feel like they are making a difference,” said KIB Board Member Karen Harmon. “KIB enjoyed working with the American Standard volunteers in 2018, and were happy to welcome them back again this year.”
