AVF Becomes the World's First Mount Manufacturer to Go Carbon Neutral

Mira Loma, CA, April 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- AVF Inc. is today pleased to announce it has become the world's first mount manufacturer to go carbon neutral. The move is the first step in a group-wide eco-friendly initiative that will reduce and offset carbon emissions produced by the company.

Working with Carbon Footprint Ltd, AVF analysed all aspects of their business to calculate the CO2 emitted through product manufacture, distribution, business travel and running offices in the UK and US. After establishing the carbon footprint of the business, reduction solutions were identified and plans were put in place to reduce energy consumption. Finally, carbon emissions were offset through projects producing 'clean energy' from renewable sources.
David Gallimore, Chief Executive of AVF Group, said:
"The effects of carbon emissions on the environment and resulting climate change are common knowledge, so in addition to our responsibilities on a personal level, we also have the same environmental responsibilities as a business. For AVF, becoming carbon neutral is only the start of an ongoing concerted effort to minimize and mitigate the effect of our business on the environment. We're committed to reducing our carbon footprint further, and we have a number of initiatives."
