Association of Educational Publishers Nominates Walch Education for Prestigious Industry Awards

Portland, ME, April 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) has announced that three Walch Education titles have been nominated as finalists in the annual recognition of Distinguished Achievement Awards.

The AEP’s Distinguished Achievement Awards recognize the best educational materials—such as books, periodicals, educational toys, and software—within subject categories and by audience. The materials are evaluated on traits such as efficacy, usability, and overall educational value and judged by an expert panel of educators, editors, designers, and technology specialists. Winners are announced at the AEP’s 2008 Annual Awards Banquet and Gala, June 6th in Washington, D.C., honoring the very best in educational publishing.

The three Walch Education titles nominated as finalists, all under the category of “Curriculum Packages,” are the following:

• Building Math
• Academic Support Program for English Language Arts
• Academic Support Program for Algebra

Building Math, developed in partnership with the Boston Museum of Science and Tufts University, uses hands-on math to solve problems in exciting real-world settings. The two Academic Support Programs were developed with partner districts in Florida, Georgia, and Maryland, and are now available across the country.

The AEP is a nonprofit organization that serves and advances the industry of supplemental educational publishing. The membership of AEP represents the breadth of educational content developers delivering progressive educational products and services in both print and electronic formats to today’s schools and colleges.
