Pro Tapes & Specialties Inc. Sticks to CheckPoint HR for Improved Payroll and Benefits Processes

Pressure Sensitive Tape Supplier Optimizes CheckPoint HR’s HRMS and The Wilshire Group’s BENeLERT Process.

Edison, NJ, April 17, 2008 --(PR.com)-- CheckPoint HR, LLC, an innovator and leading Administrative Service Organization (ASO) that offers small- to mid-size organizations an integrated Human Resource Management System (HRMS) for payroll services, human resources, and benefits administration, today announced it has been selected by Pro Tapes & Specialties Inc. to improve its, HR, and employee benefit plan. Since October 2007, the supplier of premium pressure sensitive tapes for industrial and consumer use, has utilized CheckPoint HR’s Web-based HRMS platform and its insurance affiliate, The Wilshire Group, to automate payroll, reduce costs, and improve their employee benefits packages.

With over 100 employees working from the company’s Edison, NJ headquarters, Pro Tapes & Specialties needed a better system to manage its day-to-day HR operations. Its previous payroll provider was not fully automated and required HR Administrator Rosanne McGovern to manage manual and paper-driven processes. Additionally, the company wanted to improve its health care plan to provide more consistent coverage each year so that employees did not have to continuously change doctors.

“Our previous payroll provider failed to meet our needs on both a technical and customer service level,” McGovern said. “We needed an HR solution that would simplify payroll and supplement our small HR department. CheckPoint HR was uniquely suited to not only supply an innovative HR solution, but also an exceptional benefits procurement and administration offering through The Wilshire Group.”

“CheckPoint HR has made my job significantly easier,” McGovern said. “The user-friendly interface has made everything from running payroll to preparing company reports a simple and efficient process. Instead of wasting hours completing these tasks manually, I am now available to assist the most important asset of our company – our employees.” In the future, McGovern plans to explore CheckPoint HR’s self-service tools as well as its recruiting and training capabilities. “We look forward to the additional success we will experience by further integrating CheckPoint HR into our daily work life.”

Beginning in August of 2007, Pro Tapes & Specialties began utilizing The Wilshire Group’s BENeLERT process, a long-term practice used to help clients identify the best rates and plans for their insurance needs. The Wilshire Group’s Patrick Carragher worked closely with McGovern to analyze data, establish company goals, and proactively monitor for the most innovative plans available. As a result, The Wilshire Group was able to tailor the most comprehensive plan that fit both company financial requests and specific employee needs.

“By developing a relationship early on, we were able to understand Pro Tapes & Specialties’ business strategy and identify exactly what the employees wanted before enrollment crunch time,” Carragher said. “Pro Tapes & Specialties wanted the most cost effective plan, as well as one that would be both comprehensive and consistent year to year. With the long term BENeLERT Process we were able to easily reach company goals and will continue to do so yearly.”
