)-- Robot Doors Help Gyms Manage COVID-19 Restrictions
COVID-19 restrictions have closed or limited the gyms in the U.S. These restrictions have caused hundreds of gyms to close across the US. Gyms are one of the more difficult areas to manage during the COVID-19 era.
Gymnify, a gym management software that links billing and door access, has added options that help gyms manage their gym traffic without having to staff the front door. These options include automated door entry and new features that allow gyms to remotely manage how many people enter the gym.
Gerald King, Gymnify's lead developer and former gym owner himself, says, “The Gymnify system combines billing and identification technology with robotic door access. It's an innovative way to manage gym entry that takes the burden of checking in gym members off of staff and onto an automated system.”
Not having to staff the front door both allows gyms to operate 24 hours and also reduces the amount of contact between people which is helpful for COVID-19 safety management.
King explained, “Gyms can assign gym members to classes or 24 scheduling. Which means gyms can limit the number of people on the floor. This also allows gyms to offer peak and off peak pricing, as well as expand hours.”
The most popular aspect of the software is the remote door access. Because gyms do not have to hire staff to man the additional hours, it allows any gym to be open 24 hours without added costs. This extra revenue source is key as most gyms have lost members due to COVID-19.
“Finding new sources of revenue is extremely important right now as so many gyms have been hit hard financially. Gyms that can go from just offering classes to being able to have additional gym hours can bring up revenue by bringing in new clients,” commented King.
