Honor Society NSCS Commemorates Earth Day

Washington, DC, April 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is actively involved in making its business green, its senior director of operations said today.

“We don’t believe in just making an effort on one day,” Amy Shopkorn said. “All year round we use re-usable cups, recycle computer equipment and encourage staff to use public transportation. In short we’re doing our bit to help,” she said.

Here are more facts about NSCS’ green efforts at its headquarters in Washington, D.C:

97 percent of staff and interns commute via public transportation.
Office lights are linked to motion detectors, and automatically switch off when no one is in that area.
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning automatically turn off after work hours and on weekends.
