"Texas Hold ‘Em" Tournament at Venus II

Raises $2K for Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield.

Marshfield, MA, April 23, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Venus II restaurant in Marshfield raised a cool $2,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield last week during their first Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament. Funds from the Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament support ongoing programming and special events for the children at the Boys and Girls Club.

More than 70 participants tried their luck at playing no-limit Texas Hold ‘Em at 10 professional poker tables in the brand new function room overlooking the ocean at the Venus II.

“We’re very grateful for the support of the Venus II and the Drosopoulos family. This is the second, highly successful fundraising event they have held to benefit the Boys and Girls Club this year. We can’t thank them enough,” noted Greg Jackson, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield.

Earlier this year, the Venus II hosted a Comedy Night with more than 200 people in attendance and raised $4,500 for the club.

The 1,000 member strong Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield provides the area’s youth between the ages of 6-18 with enrichment and recreation programs in a safe environment.
