Two Arrested When Sonitrol Pacific 'Hears' Break-in

Sheriff's deputies arrested two juveniles suspected of breaking into a Washington school after the youths' conversation was detected by unique audio technology.

Snohomish, WA, April 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Unique audio sensor technology monitored by Sonitrol Pacific’s experts allowed sheriff’s deputies to arrest two suspected school burglars before they had a chance to leave the building April 20.

A Sonitrol Pacific operator received an impact activated audio signal from the school and listened to real-time activity at the school to verify the nature of the noise. She heard two distinct voices discussing breaking into the school and immediately dispatched sheriff’s deputies.

Officers arrived on campus and located two juveniles inside the school. They took the two suspects into custody.

This event brings the number of Sonitrol Pacific assisted apprehensions to 4,886. Sonitrol Pacific has provided electronic security services to schools, businesses and organizations in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years. Unlike traditional security systems that rely on motion sensors, Sonitrol's unique audio sensor technology allows monitoring experts to verify the nature of the activity at a protected site, reducing false alarms.
