U.S. News & World Report Names Waveny LifeCare Network a 2020-21 Best Skilled Nursing Facility

Waveny LifeCare Network has once again been recognized nationally as not only one of the Best Nursing Homes for 2020-21 by U.S. News & World Report, but also the coveted Best Short-Term Care Nursing Facilities nationally, which includes their short-term inpatient rehabilitation programs.

New Canaan, CT, October 31, 2020 --(PR.com)-- The organization earned Best Nursing Homes status by achieving a rating of “High Performing,” the highest possible rating, for Short-Term Rehabilitation. U.S. News gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those homes that satisfy U.S. News’s assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures.

“This honor, in combination with CMS’s highest 5-Star rating, is recognition of our professional team’s talent, credentials, and teamwork,” said Russ Barksdale, Waveny’s President and CEO. “As the care needs of patients increase in complexity, clinical expertise and experience are more important than ever. Our staff is dedicated and truly committed to meeting those changing needs each and every day with the highest quality care available.”

“Waveny’s designation among the best of the best speaks to a great deal of hard work and achievement,” said Lynn Iverson, Waveny’s Vice President of Clinical Operations. “It reflects our deep commitment to our quality initiatives and to the compassion for those in our care.”

Now in its 11th year, the U.S. News Best Nursing Homes ratings and profiles offer comprehensive information about care, safety, health inspections, staffing and more for nearly all of the nation’s 15,000-plus nursing homes. The Best Nursing Homes ratings reflect U.S. News’ exclusive analysis of publicly available data using a methodology defined by U.S. News that evaluates factors that it has determined most greatly impact patient and resident care, safety, and outcomes. This year, to accompany the new ratings, nursing home profile pages were updated to include a patient safety summary that reflects COVID-19 data alongside other measurements of safety and related advice on choosing a home or facility amidst the pandemic.
