Reyes Aviation Announces Second Government Contract Award

Coral Springs, FL, May 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Reyes Aviation proudly announces the receipt of a United States Government Contract Award as of April 29, 2008. This marks the second such award granted to Reyes Aviation within the past 30 days.

The first government contract award, announced on April 7, 2008 totaled over $6.8 million and was a landmark moment for the Reyes Aviation team. The new contract award is for a smaller amount, at just below $5,000, however each contract award allows Reyes Aviation to build a government procurement history, as well as demonstrate ongoing success to develop additional supplier relationships.

“To have come this far in our first 5 months of operations is significant,” Christine Slager, Vice-President, commented, “We are continuously developing relationships with suppliers and enhancing our operations daily to grow this company.”

Jeff Greene, Vice-President of Reyes Aviation stated, “I feel strongly that Reyes Aviation is performing far above the level of most start-up small businesses. The combination of prior experience in the industry and Roger Reyes’ drive and commitment allow for a strong team that we expect will continue to achieve success.”

Reyes Aviation is classified as a SDVOSB, or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. Public Law 108-183 established a preference for the US Federal Government to contract with Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses as a follow-up to Public Law 106-50 which designated that 3 percent of the total value of all prime contract and subcontract awards by the Federal Government be awarded to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. Achieving these goals has been a difficult matter with some reports indicating only a 6% achievement of this goal due to a lack of qualified SDVOSB’s.

According to Roger Reyes, President of Reyes Aviation, “We’re prepared to assist contracting officers in meeting their SDVOSB goals at every possible turn by offering our capabilities and a hard-working and success-driven team.”
