Sikhcess™ Announces Launch of Its 'Community Cleanup' Campaign in the United States and the United Kingdom

Sikhcess™ volunteers in the United States and in the United Kingdom plan to spruce up neighborhood living spaces and areas, including parks, highways, schools, playgrounds, and sidewalks.

Chicago, IL, May 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Sikhcess™, a worldwide community-service based organization dedicated to creating positive change by bridging cultural, socioeconomic, and religious divides, has announced the launch of its ‘Community Cleanup’ campaign, the largest initiative of its kind to clean, revitalize, and improve public spaces that have been neglected or vandalized.

On May 10, 2008, Sikhcess™ volunteers in the United States and in the United Kingdom plan to spruce up neighborhood living spaces and areas, including parks, highways, schools, playgrounds, and sidewalks. The organization engages those people who use an area to care about the quality of their neighborhood. It also teaches teenagers positive ways to interact with the local community, discouraging juvenile gang activity, engaging young people in crime prevention, enhancing public safety, personal security, and preventing neighborhood violence.

“Sikhcess takes an active approach to public service by creating volunteer opportunities with the goal of enhancing quality of life for all humankind,” stated Mr. Amit Singh, Executive Director of Sikhcess™. “As neighborhoods become run-down, we must provide a real service to the community; we must mobilize all the support, donations, and volunteers we can gather in order to help create real quality and safe living areas,” Mr. Singh continued. “I urge anyone who is able to assist us with the ‘Community Cleanup’ campaign to contact us at info@sikhcess.com, and we will enable you with the tools and support to kick-off a ‘Community Cleanup’ campaign in your city.”

Dedicated to creating sustainable positive change, through in this instance, sprucing up local communities, Sikhcess™ is investing time, energy, and resources to help neighborhoods become cleaner and safer places to live. Across the United States and United Kingdom, cities where ‘Community Cleanup’ events will be taking place include Albuquerque, Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Miami, Oklahoma City, Los Angeles, and Sacramento, in the United States, and in Birmingham, in the United Kingdom.

Sikhcess™ is best known for its ‘Feed The Homeless’ campaign, which spread across North America with extraordinary coverage within a very small amount of time, and has now expanded globally. The organization’s next campaign is set to take place on June 14, 2008 with volunteers ready to distribute individual food packages in four continents across the world, including Australia, North America, Europe, and Asia.

Working to help address homeless hunger, Sikhcess™ has taken ‘Langar’ (or ‘Free Community Kitchen’) to those on the streets, on a global level. Volunteers throughout the world distribute freshly prepared individual food packages to the homeless and needy.

The Sikh institution of ‘Langar’ was started by the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak. It is the only free kitchen of its kind in the world, collectively serving millions around the globe each year, regardless of gender, social standing, caste, color, religious affiliation, or beliefs. Through this ideal of equality, the tradition of Langar expresses the ethics of sharing, community, inclusiveness, and oneness of all humankind.
