Non-Profit Kearny Alliance Asia Appoints Alexander Boome as Program Director

Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., May 07, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Focus on Advancing Mission of Aid Through Trade, Enhancing Job Creation, Export Development and Scholarship Programs Across Asia.

The Kearny Alliance Asia, an affiliate of the nonprofit Kearny Alliance 501 (c) (3) foundation based in Scottsdale, Arizona, appoints Alexander Boome as program director. Based in The Philippines, Boome will develop, monitor and evaluate the Alliance's programs across Southeast Asia and mainland China.

Boome has been a consultant to the Kearny Alliance Asia since 2006, developing branding, positioning and marketing for the Kearny Alliance and its key programs.

He brings to the post more than 17 year's expertise creating business opportunities for companies in Asia. Most recently, he worked in the business-to-business export media industry with Global Sources' (NASDAQ-GS: GSOL) (http://www.globalsources.com) as general manager of corporate marketing.

He served as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Palawan, Philippines from 1987 to 1989 where he established programs in community development, family health and the sustainable use of natural resources.

He has a degree in International Relations from the University of British Columbia, and is pursuing his Master's in Public Policy and Management with the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies.

Kearny Alliance: Aid Through Trade -- Scope and Major Programs
The Kearny Alliance (http://www.kearnyalliance.org) whose mission is Aid through Trade, focuses on job creation, export development, education and trade policy research.

Students from mainland China, Vietnam and Cambodia receive stipends from the Kearny Alliance for:
-- Bachelor's and Master's degrees in International journalism at Hong Kong Baptist University
-- Master's in International journalism at Beijing's prestigious Tsinghua University
-- International MBAs at Beijing University's leading BiMBA program

Many students also enjoy internship and on-the-job training opportunities with leading companies in Hong Kong and China.

Programs to advance job creation and export development are:
-- The Export Service Centre in Bali, Indonesia (http://www.ExportServiceCentre.com) whose social entrepreneurship model helps build capacity and assists small and medium-sized enterprises to export to global markets. The organization estimates that in 2007 it helped create 2,300 jobs in Indonesia. Buyers may visit the Export Service Centre's offices in Bali, Indonesia, or discuss sourcing opportunities with general manager Eugene Verspoor, at its booths at the China Sourcing Fairs (http://www.chinasourcingfairs.com) in Hong Kong every April and October.
-- Developing Country Export Assistance Program, which includes Developing Country Sourcing Reports for the Philippines and Indonesia. Produced in association with Global Sources (http://www.globalsources.com) the Export Assistance Program is designed to promote exports from developing countries in Asia to create sustainable employment
-- Digital Divide Data (http://www.DigitalDivideData.org): Kearny Alliance provided seed money to this development enterprise which provides jobs in the information technology sector for disadvantaged people in Cambodia and Lao. The program has recently been awarded a prestigious Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship (http://www.skollfoundation.org/skollawards).

Trade policy research initiatives supported by the Kearny Alliance explore the positive benefits that global trade has on sustainable development of economies and the advancement of international understanding and world peace.
