Police Arrest Two Suspected School Window Breakers

For the second time in less than a week, police arrest suspects at an elementary school after criminal activity detected by Sonitrol Pacific.

Tacoma, WA, May 09, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Police made arrests at an area elementary school for the second time in less than a week after Sonitrol Pacific detected criminal activity May 4.

A senior Sonitrol Pacific operator received a signal activation from the school and verified threatening activity by listening to Sonitrol’s real-time audio sensors. She heard sounds indicating breaking glass and called the school’s patrol service.

Earlier in the evening the operator received a similar signal activation followed by faint thud sounds. When she dispatched the patrol service the officer located a broken window at the school, but no suspects.

With the second Sonitrol Pacific dispatch, the patrol officer arrived at the school to find more broken windows and the two individuals suspected of breaking the windows. Both were taken into custody.

On May 1, police officers arrested one individual suspected of breaking into one of the school’s portable classroom after Sonitrol Pacific detected activity.

Sonitrol Pacific provides comprehensive electronic security for schools, businesses and other organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Since 1978, 4,891 suspects have been arrested thanks to detection by Sonitrol Pacific.
