)-- Sea Assist Limited, Bermuda’s first marine assistance company has contracted Newport, RI based Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, to train its staff in advanced towing methods, safety, security, and risk management. Confident Captain/Ocean Pros staff traveled to the island in early May to conduct the initial training program with Sea Assist Limited staff. “Bermuda offers a plethora of enjoyable boating opportunities unlike anywhere else in the world,” said Captain Kent Dresser, President and Founder of Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, “The unique geography of the island creates numerous risks and challenges for recreational boaters and those rendering aid to them. Sea Assist is very well poised to meet these challenges and provide peace of mind to the Bermudian boating community and visitors alike.”
Captain Mark Procter, one of the founders of Sea Assist Limited said, “The training from Confident Captain/Ocean Pros was extremely valuable for our staff. Sea Assist Limited will offer an annual membership package that allows the member to receive free towing, fuel drops, and jump-starts should trouble arising while boating. But, not only will Sea Assist provide towing if you break down, or jump-starts should you lose your battery power, with their premium membership package they will even service and maintain your boat at its home dock or mooring. Hundreds of mariners pass through the doors of the Confident Captain/Ocean Pros classroom in downtown Newport each year, taking courses for their USCG Captains License, UK Yachtmaster certification, STCW-95 Basic Safety Training and Able Seaman certification.
