Vector Software Announces Support for the Wind River VxWorks 653

Vector Software, a leading provider of software test tools for embedded systems, today announced support for the Wind River VxWorks 653 Platform version 2.2. The VectorCAST integration supports both the C and C++ development languages. This integration enables test execution using both the vxSim VxWorks 653 simulation environment and on development and deployment boards, using any of the Wind River VxWorks 653 Board Support Packages.

North Kingstown, RI, May 10, 2008 --(PR.com)-- When using VectorCAST with VxWorks 653, developers have the option of executing test cases in the both the core OS (kernel mode) or in any of the VxWorks 653 application partitions (user mode). Developers can quickly create test script environments for a wide range of testing demands, and automatically execute these test scripts as required by safety authorities. These test environments can support RTCA DO-178B / EUROCAE ED-12B Level B through D, and, with Vector Software’s Modified Condition / Decision Coverage (MC/DC) module, Level A. “Vector’s integration with the VxWorks 653 Platform further extends the comprehensive design, code, test, and management capabilities of the Wind River Workbench development environment”, states Rob Hoffman, VP and General Manager of Aerospace and Defense at Wind River. “This release enables joint Vector and Wind River customers to leverage the broad range of capabilities built into the Workbench development environment for the industry’s leading ARINC 653 operating system.”

Vector Software has supported the Wind River development environments for over six years and is committed to delivering industry-leading verification tools needed by developers of safety critical avionics software applications. “This integration with the VxWorks 653 Platform underscores Vector’s commitment to providing robust verification tools for leading safety-critical tools and technologies,” notes Bill McCaffrey, Director of Marketing at Vector Software. “Our MC/DC module and DO-178B Qualification Package help speed the test and acceptance of complex safety-critical systems.”
