This is part of a broader competition called PyxWorld/2008. More information is at www.pyxix.net.

Hollywood, CA, May 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The horror entertainment channel UrbanChillers®, part of the global diversified media company, Pyxix® Corporation, is sponsoring The SCREAM, a worldwide mobile video contest. UrbanChillers is now accepting mobile video submissions as part of its “Summer of Screams.”

Contestants are invited to submit their tale of terror, which must include their best scream, via a mobile device –cell phone, digital camera or PDA. Entries should be no longer than two minutes in length and shot in one continuous take or scene.

There will be a monthly winner for the best scream contest. The first winner will be announced in June and will receive a $250 cash prize. The monthly prize winners will be recognized at a Hollywood gala this December. Winners will be selected by an online audience. Contestants are encouraged to enter as often as they like, but will be eligible to win just once.

“Not everyone has access to a video camera, but a lot of people around the world do have a camera in their cell phone,” said Pyxix CEO Amit Tripathi. “The SCREAM contest offers the chance to be creative and reach a worldwide audience. We chose the concept of the scream, because it can surmount language barriers and still be funny and terrifying, depending on the imagination of the mobile filmmaker.”

Visitors to UrbanChillers.mobi will be asked to judge entries just as they would any other short film.

UrbanChillers viewers will be able to judge the mobile scene by production value, performance, location, lighting, drama and humor.

The SCREAM is part of the broader PyxWorld/2008 program, a year-long series of competitions and events that will include face-to-face networking opportunities for artists and audience, knowledge sharing seminars and webinars, and local gatherings on three continents. Details of the events will be posted on Pyxix.net and on each of the four broadband entertainment channels, and will be e-mailed to members. Membership is free. Anyone can become a member of any Pyxix entertainment channel by visiting the broadband channels DocuPyx.com, ComedyPop.com, UrbanChillers.com or PyxTunes.com.
