Cyber Institute Awarded Multiple Trademark Registrations from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

Colorado Springs, CO, November 28, 2017 --(PR.com)-- The United States Patent and Trademark Office registered several federal trademarks to the Cyber Institute today in Washington D.C. The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) maintains a public database of certificates of registration, making it a matter of public record that the registrant owns the subject trademark. The USPTO registrations have been filed for an indefinite period of time for declared business names and symbols associated with “Cyber Institute” and the “Cyber Risk Research Institute” which protects the specific, unique name, logo, and symbols pertaining to its products or business brand. These phrases notify the public that the mark is registered with the USPTO, and the organization enjoys all the accompanying benefits of registration, and they may use the federal trademark registration symbol, ®, with the trademarks to show they are registered for the sole use of the Cyber Institute. The USPTO is quoted as saying, “Trademark protection may apply to business names, symbols, logos, sounds, and even colors that are emblematic of one specific brand and this may help deter others from using your trademark or one too like theirs”. Attorney Josh Gerben said, “While the major legal reason to seek a trademark registration is protection from infringement, it also establishes the integrity of an organization because trademark registration takes a minimum of eight months to achieve and is extensively reviewed which helps the public determine if organizations are credible.”
