ASAP Program Used by 80% of Florida Schools in Newsweek Magazine’s Top US High Schools

Oviedo, FL, May 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Newsweek Magazine recently released its list of 1300 Top US high schools. Public schools were ranked according to the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school in 2007. This number was divided by the number graduating seniors. The results? 80% of Florida schools listed in Newsweek magazine are partner districts who use the Accelerated School Administrator Program (ASAP).

The Accelerated School Administrator Program (ASAP) helps districts to identify and guide quality candidates quickly and efficiently. The ASAP program is integrated into partner district programs to support leadership candidates in individualized as well as group study. Research and common sense demonstrate that an effective principal is essential to school success. Throughout North America, there is a shortage of qualified school administrators and a need to develop new ones. ASAP supports quality leadership development with a competency-based, rather than a time-based approach.

“From a program director’s point of view, the most exciting element of implementing ASAP has been the flexibility granted to us to adapt the wonderful features of ASAP to our own district and program needs. The technical support has been outstanding. Only three months into implementation, we can already see professional growth in our program participants due to their involvement with ASAP.”
