)-- Television and Feature-Film Star Hill Harper will be the featured guest on 'Upfront & Straightforward with Alan Roger Currie' on the BlogTalkRadio Internet Radio Network this Thursday to discuss his new book, "Letters to a Young Sister: DeFINE Your Destiny." Harper's first book, "Letters to a Young Brother: MANifest Your Destiny," earned New York Times Best Seller honors as well as two NAACP awards. The book also was named 'Best Book for Young Adults' by the American Library Association in 2007.
Harper is a good friend and former classmate of 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama. Obama and Harper both graduated from Harvard Law School. Michelle Obama contributed commentary to Harper's book, along with many others, including Political Commentator Tavis Smiley, Actress Alfre Woodard, Actress Sanaa Lathan, and Poet Nikki Giovanni among others.
'Upfront & Straightforward' is a featured show on the BlogTalkRadio network, and can boast a number of well-respected book authors as past guests. Alan Roger Currie, who first made Harper's acquaintance in 2005 at a panel discussion in Chicago for Black filmmakers, is a former television commercial actor and stand-up comedian. Currie began his show on the BlogTalkRadio network in June 2007, and is the author of the paperback, "Mode One: Let The Women Know What You're REALLY Thinking."
