Old Westbury, NY, June 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions convened it's first advisory board meeting to discuss the state of home emergency preparedness efforts in local communities on Long Island, NY. Ongoing, the Advisory Board will serve as a formal committee of experts to advise the product development initiatives of the Ice-Qube, In Case of Emergency, product line, a comprehensive collection of rescue, survival, first aid, hygiene and comfort products to get individuals and families through any emergency.

The Ice-Qube advisory board brings together the expertise of leaders in the fields of Emergency Management, Fire Safety, Police, Transportation and family psychology. In attendance at the April 3rd meeting were Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions President, Leslie Fastenberg; Richard Rotanz, Special Assistant to the President & Provost, Emergency Management Program, Adelphi University; Dan Duggan, Chief of Police; Old Westbury Police Department; Lauren Nichols, Vice President of E&F Trucking & Warehouse of Bethpage; Patricia Loeb, Ph.D. and Moria Phillips, Owner of Papermill 7 in Sea Cliff. The Advisory Board will meet 3 times a year to support the efforts of Ice-Qube Emergency Preparedness Solutions.

It is reported that only 5% of people on Long Island identify themselves as prepared for an emergency. There is a potential burden on the emergency management system on Long Island which is worrisome and why we need to communicate the urgency to others to be prepared.

"In a post-911 and post-Katrina world, I became serious about preparing my own family for an emergency, and found that the emergency prepredness products on the market had limitations in terms of practicality, quality and reliability" says Leslie Fastenberg, President, Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions. "The challenge is to educate, motivate and inspire families and individuals to be prepared, which is one reason why I felt the need for the advisory board."

At the meeting, Fastenberg announced the upcoming launch on 10 new products to the Ice-Qube products line, including the Ice-Qube Basic, a new collection of fundamental premium emergency preparedness products, the Ice-Qube for Babies and Ice-Qube for Pets.

As Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions ramps up for the additional product offerings, America is leading into the critical environmental seasons such as hurricanes in the East and South, tornadoes in the Mid-West and wild fires in the West. Concern about consumer compliancy has heightened the need for an educational awareness push. Ice-Qube Preparedness Solutions is committed to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's campaign for National Preparedness - Resolve To Be Ready. By registering with www.ice-qube.com individuals will receive a free Family Emergency Plan.
