)-- Global Sources (Nasdaq: GSOL) and its team members have donated RMB 2,000,000 to various charities involved in helping victims of the Sichuan earthquake - double the amount previously planned.
Global Sources' Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "I would like to thank Global Sources team members for opening their hearts to the people of Sichuan province.

-- RMB 500,000 to the Red Cross of China (http://www.redcross.org.cn), which now has volunteers in the affected areas actively assisting with relief efforts.
-- RMB 500,000 for the Half the Sky Foundation (http://www.halfthesky.org) to provide care for children orphaned by the earthquake.
Executive Director of Half the Sky Foundation, Jenny Bowen, said: "We're extremely grateful to Global Sources and its team members for their generosity. Their contributions will help us to provide long-term care and emotional support for children in Sichuan who have tragically lost one or both parents to the earthquake."
