CBC's Rick Davidson Recognized as 2008 Honoree for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris, Bergen and Passaic Counties in NJ

Parsippany, NJ, June 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Rick Davidson, president and COO of Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates (CBC®), one of the largest commercial real estate brokerage franchise systems, was recognized as the 2008 Honoree for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris, Bergen and Passaic counties in New Jersey.

Davidson was presented with this exclusive honor during the organization’s fourth annual “A Celebration of Big Magic” dinner and fund raising event, held on June 5, 2008 at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany, N.J. More than 400 supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris, Bergen and Passaic counties were in attendance at the event to help raise funds for this worthy cause and to honor Davidson’s contributions.

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to provide children, primarily from single parent homes, with positive role models to help mentor them as they grow. Davidson was singled out for his tireless support of the organization over the past several years, particularly his creation of the “Climb For Kids’ Sake” event in July 2007, in which he and a team of CBC mountain climbers scaled two mountains in three days in the Pacific Northwest to raise funds and awareness for the organization. A second Climb For Kids’ Sake is slated for September 2008.

Almost $300,000 was raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters during the evening, through a silent auction and the “Fund A Match” program, in which money is donated by event attendees to support many of the organization’s services.

In accepting the award, Davidson thanked the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bergen Passaic and Morris county staff for this honor and recognized the work of the many “Bigs” in the audience. Describing what it means to be a mentor, he challenged everyone in attendance to make a commitment to help out a child in need and become a “Big.” He stressed that “the world will be a different place tomorrow, simply because you made a decision to make a difference here tonight.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters is the primary charitable cause for the entire Coldwell Banker Commercial® organization. Additionally, Davidson and his wife, Tina, are currently a “Big Couple” mentoring a young boy in Morris County, New Jersey.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris Bergen and Passaic is one of the most successful chapters of the organization in the U.S. and has received the Gold Standard Award from the national headquarters. They currently serve over 800 children annually in the region and are committed to serving over 1000 within the next three years. The organization is also stressing that male mentors are urgently needed at this time and are encouraged to contact the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization for more information 973-335-3044.
