Driving Home Rideshare Week

Newport Beach, CA, June 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Joven Orozco Design (JOD) was challenged to create a campaign for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) that increased “Rideshare Week” awareness. The objective was to increase participation and to educate employees of their different modes of transportation. OCTA wanted people to know that it operates nearly 900 buses and is the 12th busiest transit system in the nation.

They created a bilingual campaign to help increase awareness by creating a fun way to involve employees in Rideshare Week. JOD created presentation kits to give to all of the Employee Transportation Coordinators (ETC) that invited them to participate and encourage their employees to rideshare during “Rideshare Week.” Engaging invitations, bus ads, newspaper flyers and online marketing materials were included in each kit. The campaign they came up with was “Be a Rideshare Hero” and it encouraged employees to decrease traffic by taking the bus or train, carpool, vanpool, bike or telecommute to work instead. The incentive was that each participant qualified to win great prizes and of course help to save the environment.

"We wanted to focus on the customer and make them the hero for making a difference." – Kenneth Lim, Visual Scientist.
