New York, NY, June 21, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Knowledge Congress, the leading producer of regulatory focused teleconferences and webinars announced today that John P. Langan, CPA, Principal In Charge of the Nonprofit and Government Services Group of LarsonAllen LLP will speak at the Knowledge Congress’ upcoming teleconference and webinar entitled: “Are You Prepared for SAS 112?”. SAS 112 or the Statement on Auditing Standard No. 112 is a new auditing standard issued on May 2006 affecting audits of financial statements for periods ending on or after December 15, 2006. Its purpose is to harmonize the audit standards of non-profit companies to those already prepared for public companies. It will also make assessments become compliant with national standards. Auditing firms ought to take note of this as it may cause some miscalculations or misstatements in audit reports.

The Knowledge Congress is assembling a panel of experts who will share their insights on the advantages and disadvantages of this new statement. The panel will present their findings, which include “Best Practices” in a two-hour teleconference and webinar.

He Chairs the Audit Committee for Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and Lynn University. He is a past Treasurer for the Rotary Club of Washington, DC. He has served as an Adjunct Professor in Not-for-Profit Financial Management at George Mason University and is a member of the Recruiting Advisory Board for the Kogod School of Business at American University. He is a member of the Audit Committee for the American Legacy Foundation and serves as Treasurer of the Pentagon Memorial Fund, whose mission it is to erect a memorial for the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 who died at the Pentagon.

Mr. Langan has authored several articles and addressed many not-for-profit boards on topics ranging from the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley on best practices in the nonprofit industry to the newly issued audit standards and recently revised Form 990.
