NAFA Launches 2008 Membership Drive

NAFA begins its annual Member-Recruit-A-Member campaign to bring in new members across North America.

Princeton, NJ, June 22, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The strength of NAFA lies in its membership and NAFA Members know how to best communicate the benefits. Once again, the Association’s Member-Recruit-A-Member campaign is underway to increase NAFA’s numbers across North America. Last year’s Membership Drive added over 60 new Members and this year’s goal is to improve on this success. Those participating in the 2008 Membership Drive earn NAFA Dollars for each new Member and up to five lucky participants will win a free registration to the 2009 Institute & Expo in New Orleans, April 25-28, 2009.

All NAFA Members and Affiliates are invited to participate in the Membership Drive. For each new fleet manager a NAFA Member recruits between June 1 and November 30, 2008, one ticket will be entered in a drawing to win a free I&E registration. In addition to the drawing, each new Member application brings $10 NAFA Dollars to the sponsoring Member or Affiliate. The NAFA Dollars may be used towards any NAFA product. Full rules and information are available at http://www.nafa.org/2008drive.

NAFA Fleet Management Association, formerly known as the National Association of Fleet Administrators, Inc. (NAFA), is a not-for-profit, individual membership professional society serving the needs of Members who manage fleets of automobiles, vans, medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and a range of specialized mobile equipment for organizations in the United States and Canada. Last year’s Membership Drive resulted in more than three quarters of the NAFA chapters gaining new members and fellow fleet professionals. The 2007 Membership Drive experienced a 30% increase from the 2006 Membership Drive and hopes are high for such an increase again this year.

“The value of NAFA is very apparent to all fleet professionals,” said Dennis Hogan, one of five Membership Drive winners for 2007. “To be able to get others involved in such an organization is truly a benefit to the entire fleet management profession.”

The winners of last year’s Membership Drive used several ways to entice new members. Several sponsors looked at similar companies and organizations, contacting whomever handled their fleet. Others invited colleagues and prospective members to local chapter meetings to give them a small sample of what NAFA’s services provide to the fleet community.

“NAFA is all about supporting and finding solutions for fleet managers through training and good old-fashioned networking,” said Sean Renauer, another one of the 2007 Membership Drive winners. “Fleet managers’ deal with problems on a daily basis and NAFA has always exceeded my expectations on helping me find an answer. I filled in other fleet managers on the advantages of joining NAFA.”

The 2007 Membership Drive winners included: Nanette Alfano, Multi-Chem Group, LLC; Dennis Hogan, CAFM, City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Donald Morrison, Government of Ontario, Ministry of Government Services; Bill O’Brien, Wheels, Inc.; and Sean Renauer, Montgomery County Maryland, Police Department.

Membership is one of NAFA’s highest priorities and the membership drive is just one of the avenues that NAFA uses to attract potential new members. Current Members and Affiliates are aware of NAFA’s services and providing that information to others is a great benefit.
