Howard Alum Joins Honor Society Staff

Washington, DC, June 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Howard University alum Blair A. Edwards is the new regional manager for Southern chapters of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). NSCS is an honor society inviting high-achieving freshmen and sophomores, and has 650,000 members at 230 colleges and universities across the United States.

Edwards is Manager, Member Engagement for NSCS chapters at universities in Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi. She will serve as the point of contact for chapter officers and members at the local level, and work with students on several programs and events including NSCS’ “I Stand for Integrity” Day, March to College Day and the annual Leadership Summit and Convention.

She attended Howard University and graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Communications. During her time at Howard, she interned and worked with many highly recognized organizations such as the Washington Wizards, NFL Players Association, D.C. United, Habitat for Humanity, and Building Educated Leaders for Life (B.E.L.L.).

After graduation, she followed her passion for non-profit work to a public relations firm in Georgetown and served clients such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the United Nations Foundation, and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. There she worked on education issues such as college preparedness and success, as well as many health care initiatives.
