Bring Soaring Fuel Costs Back Down to Earth: Global Gas Boycott on the 5th Day of Every Month

Global Community Communications Alliance is encouraging everyone to proclaim their independence from fossil fuels on the 5th day of every month until gas prices are brought down significantly. The campaign's slogan is: “Freedom, not Fueldom.”

Sedona, AZ, July 02, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Rising prices may mean more than minor inconveniences and lightened pocketbooks for gasoline consumers. The inflated cost of gas is causing unprecedented changes to our world economy and our petroleum-dependent lifestyles. That's why Global Community Communications Alliance (GCCA) is sponsoring Fuel-Free Fifth Days—an active campaign aimed toward lowering prices at the pump. This activist-minded, spiritual organization encourages everyone to proclaim their independence from fossil fuels on the 5th day of every month until gas prices are brought down significantly. The campaign's slogan is: “Freedom, not Fueldom.”

Global Community Communications Alliance is not your average spiritual organization. For twenty years they have quietly thrived and grown as an EcoVillage and exemplary intentional community in Sedona, Arizona. Recently the group has begun to relocate to the Santa Cruz River Valley in southern Arizona. Years ago, the founders of GCCA, Gabriel of Urantia and Niánn Emerson Chase, began to fuse spirituality with activism, thus forming the foundations of a spiritual revolution they call SpiritualutionTM.

As part of their ongoing efforts to serve humanity, GCCA calls for others to join them in this Spiritualution. "On the 5th of each month, walk, bike, diversify your day—get creative!” says Gabriel of Urantia. “Support humanity and help bring down high food costs. Send a message to big oil. Cease using and buying gasoline on the 5th day of every month until we decide, as the people, the fair price to pay for gasoline."

“Spiritualution is the solution,” continues Gabriel of Urantia. “Spiritualution is true hope because it incorporates active participation in helping to change the world, one person at a time—and it involves not just thinking about changing the world, or reading about changing the world, or praying about it, or meditating about it, but doing it. Sometimes changing a wrong or injustice involves some personal sacrifice, in order to promulgate a better tomorrow for everyone.”

The success of the Fuel-Free Fifth Days depends on people spreading the news by “word of mouth.” GCCA members are encouraging others through e-mail and phone calls to take action and unite with families, friends, and neighbors worldwide. The organization is optimistic that many others will join them on these days of peaceful protest. When dealing with the realities of day-to-day living, Gabriel of Urantia expresses a hopeful attitude of well-placed priorities, "So when the fifth comes, go ahead and walk, ride your bicycle, you know, but don't get in that car and don't buy gas. We can do it!"

Joining GCCA in this campaign is a collective of businesses and organizations that include Future Studios, Global Change Multi-Media, Avalon Gardens, Global Family Legal Services, and Soulistic Hospice.
