EVOLUTION Bodywork & Nutrition, a Bristol, RI wellness center, is pleased to announce EVOLUTION team member Karen Ortiz has been awarded her certification in the GYROTONIC Expansion System®.

Ms. Oritiz studied under GYROTONIC® Trainers Kathy Van Patten of Boston Bodyworks Studio, Lisa Marie Goodwin of In-Spiral Movement of LA and Sebastian Plettenberg of GYROTONIC® Manhattan.
"As of July 2008, there are only five Certified GYROTONIC ® trainers in Rhode Island - and I know I am biased, but I think we have the best. We're thrilled about Karen's new certification. In addition to Ms. Ortiz’s certification in the GYROTONIC Expansion System®, she is a PMA Certified Pilates Instructor (Pilates Method Alliance), Nationally Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Certified Reflexologist and Specialist in AIS (Active Isolated Stretching). Ms Ortiz is a graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute. Ms. Ortiz has trained directly with Aaron Mattes the pioneer of the Active Isolated Stretching method, and assists master AIS trainers Marjorie Brooks and Steffan Matte with AIS seminars in New England.
